Fall Is Here! Is Your Ecofan Ready?
Gone are the warm sunny days of summer and it feels as if autumn is here to stay! Leaves are turning from vibrant greens to deep oranges and reds, pumpkins are gracing the front steps of houses along every street, and frosty mornings are reminding us that winter is on its way.
We can tell cooler temperatures are sweeping across Canada, the United States, and parts of Europe as our team has been chatting with customers who are firing up their woodstoves and bringing their Ecofan out of storage in preparation for another chilly season!
In preparation for sweater weather, we thought we would provide a few helpful tips so that you can stay warm and cozy in your home all season long.
Care for your Ecofan
One of the most frequently asked questions that we receive is, “How do I care for my Ecofan.” Here are a few tips to help extend the life of your favourite wood stove accessory.
If you would like to clean your Ecofan, simply dust it with a lightly dampened cloth. Watch for the wires at the back! Washing the fan is not recommended as water can damage how the fan will function.
Be sure to place the Ecofan correctly on top of your wood stove. The back of the fan requires room temperature air to flow through the fins at the top. If there is not enough cooler room temperature air located at the back of the stove, we have a solution! Simply place the Ecofan along the outside edges of the stovetop, either along the sides or one of the front corners, and turn the Ecofan on an angle so that the back is facing the open area of the room.
If you have a busy and bustling household, ensure that everyone knows where the Ecofan is located. If the fan falls or is dropped, the blades, motor, and module can be damaged and cause your Ecofan to no longer work as it should. Of course, every Ecofan model is built with premium parts that are heavier and sturdier than most other wood stove fans on the market, so this is less of a concern for Ecofan owners than other wood stove fan owners. Plus, our blades and motors are replaceable!
Build a Fire that Uses Less Wood!
Everyone has their own methods for building a cozy fire that will warm a room and create the perfect atmosphere on a cold fall day. Whichever way you build your fire, there is a way to increase its efficiency.
The Firemizer is the perfect accessory for your wood stove or fireplace. Created from a special blend of stainless-steel alloys to form a grid, it slows airflow so that your fire can burn longer, and keeps coals and embers from falling through the grate, allowing for a more even, cleaner fire with less mess.
If you are looking to build a fire that produces heat for longer, see if the Firemizer is right for you.
