Work Where You Live

One of Caframo’s long-serving company perks is the fact that its staff live in some of the most stunning scenery Canada has to offer. “Work where you live” is a fun motto to remind potential hires of the notion that Caframo employees, living and working in and around the Bruce Peninsula, have picked a wonderful place to live and found a great job within it.
“Work where you live” is more of a feel good statement than the more common: “live where you work,” which can be found scrawled along downtown Toronto condominium stockades beside “coming soon” and “1 bdrm starting at $895K.”
Caframo’s version is a small jab at the rat race that is Toronto, as well as a plight to steal some talent away from the city.
Lately, with Covid-19 changing the work / life landscape, the motto isn’t just Caframo’s, it’s everybody’s.
Through our SEEKR and Ecofan brands, we have been talking to more and more people that are working where they live - anywhere and everywhere. For those that can work online, doing so from a boat, an RV, or a cabin in the woods has become more commonplace with the number of social media accounts showcasing these lifestyles booming.
Lucky for us, a lot of the people living the “work where you live” lifestyle use our products.
For these people, making a living while avoiding the grind of the city has become something to showcase with pride. How to do it most effectively and in style has become something to celebrate.
Some have been doing it before the pandemic began and have only accelerated their passions for the lifestyle and their fan base in the past year.
We thought we’d showcase 3 of our favourites and why we’ve been fortunate to make their acquaintance.
Chrome & Vancity_Vanlife
We found Chrome when he reviewed our Sirocco II (unsolicited) for his Van Life blog. He later toured Caframo and got some sweet giveaway swag for his fans. Chrome is full-time work from the road and puts a TON of mileage on his van crisscrossing our country. There’s no better way to say it than he has “made a living L-I-V-I-N.”
Flore & LifeInCabins
Another unsolicited review we were thrilled to stumble across (or were we tagged? Can’t remember), was a story on Flore’s Instagram that featured our Ecofan Original 800. We’ve since sent her an AirMax 812 and she’s created this fantastic little video for us. Flore lives in Canmore, Alberta and has worked from a cabin in the woods. Or maybe it’s many cabins in the woods? She runs the Instagram account @LifeInCabins and seemingly does exactly what her handle says.
Clare & David & Project.Physio
Clare and David are physiotherapists that travel Australia and provide physio care to rural communities without access to such services. Their Toyota Coaster is decked out for life on the road so that they’re comfortable wherever they’re at. Presumably, not having to head back home at the end of the day and having all their necessities with them allow for further travel onto the land to more remote communities. What a novel idea! Oh, and to make sure they’re comfortable and cool off-grid, they use our Sirocco II 12-volt fan.
The list of those who work where they live is growing exponentially. And more people are taking to social media to talk and tell stories about their unique circumstances and we’re thrilled to see our products widely used within their stories.
Join us for more @SEEKRlife and @EcofanLife.
